We suggest four excursion sites:
- Korean Folk Village (located at Yong-In City):
transportation (round trip from/to the conference venue)
will be provided.
The Korean Folk Village is home to numerous collections of
Korean cultural artifacts, providing an opportunity for Korean children to
experience and learn the culture of their ancestors firsthand. The site
provides a venue to promote traditional Korean culture to both domestic and
international visitors, and provides an open-air learning place for succeeding
generations. The village has been developed to convey the wisdom and the
spirits of our ancestors to both domestic and international tourists.

the webpage.
- Changdeokgung Palace and Secret Garden (UNESCO world heritage site):
one-way transportation to the Secret Garden will be provided.
Changdeokgung Palace was built during the Joseon Dynasty(1395 - 1910) and has more buildings preserved than any other palace from that period. The palace is designated as Historical Site No. 122 and covers a total area of 580,000 square meters, although the main palace grounds which do not include the Secret Gardens cover an area of 120,000 square meters.
For more information,
visit here.
- Gyeongbokgung Palace:
one-way transportation to the palace will be provided.
The palace was named Gyeongbokgung, the "Palace Greatly Blessed by Heaven." With Mount Bugaksan to its rear and Mount Namsan in
the foreground, the site of Gyeong-bokgung Palace was at the heart of Seoul and, indeed, deemed auspicious according to the traditional practice of geomancy. In front of Gwanghwamun Gate, the main entrance to the palace, ran Yukjo-geori (Street of Six Ministries, today's Sejongno), home to major government offices. Along the central axis upon which Gwang-hwamun Gate stood was the nucleus of the palace, including the throne hall, reception hall and king's residence.
The government ministry district and main buildings of Gyeongbokgung Palace formed the heart of the capital city of Seoul and represented the sovereignty of the Joseon Dynasty.

- National Museum of Korea: one-way transportation to the National Museum
will be provided.
For more information,
visit
the webpage.
We will provide the round trip transportation for the option 1,
since the Folk Village is located in the outskirt of Seoul. We expect to be back
by 7:00 pm, considering some traffic during commute hours.
For other options, we will provide transportation to the excursion
places. After you finish your visit to the Secret Garden, the Palace
or the National Museum, you are free to visit the nearby Insa-dong,
Jongro, Cheonggyechun, or the old donwtown, and come back to your hotel
by subway line 2 or by taxi. You can refer to the map in the conference
package or the tour guide book.
The digital/audio Guide is available in English, in Japanese and in Chinese.
Whenever available, we will also arrange an English tour guide for each excursion.
